The Knox anchor has the highest holding power of any commercial anchor for leisure boats. It was invented in Scotland by Professor Knox, and is made in Scotland, (perhaps the only remaining anchor made here?). New generation anchors are far superior in performance to older models, copies of which are still available. Some consider an anchor an item unlikely to be used, but like other safety equipment, when you really need it, it is some assurance that yours will work. No-one would rely on a 1930’s design of lifejacket today, but we cling on to 1930’s designs of anchors, ignoring the huge difference in materials and design. We will be showing the new Dutch Maxima 600 and Maxima 550 day boats which are being brought into the country by Honda Marine and have just made their Debut at the Southampton Boat Show before being displayed for the first time in Scotland at the Kip Show. We will also be showing the new Finnish Yamarin 46SC boat powered by Yamaha along with Orkney Fishing boats and the fantastic Highfield RIBS. On duty will be Charles Greig and Alan Mitchell from our Boat Sales team.

TeemSurveys work to the IIMS Code of Conduct to provide a competent survey service in a professional and friendly manner as well as timely boating advice.  They are always available to support boating enthusiasts in the Firth of Clyde, East and West Coasts of Scotland, Europe and beyond. Tom Elder is the brains of the outfit being a qualified Surveyor DipMarSur, DipMarEEE, Prince2 Project Management Practitioner, active Full Member IIMS and RYA Yachtmaster. He is also an approved Tonnage Measurer and Certifying Authority Surveyor.  Moira Elder is the one who knows what’s going on and makes Tom look good on paper.   Without giving their ages away, together they have many, many years of boating experience.  Tom Elder/Elder Moira – TEEM!
