The Knox anchor has the highest holding power of any commercial anchor for leisure boats. It was invented in Scotland by Professor Knox, and is made in Scotland, (perhaps the only remaining anchor made here?). New generation anchors are far superior in performance to older models, copies of which are still available.
Some consider an anchor an item unlikely to be used, but like other safety equipment, when you really need it, it is some assurance that yours will work. No-one would rely on a 1930’s design of lifejacket today, but we cling on to 1930’s designs of anchors, ignoring the huge difference in materials and design. Come and see a Scottish made Knox anchor at the show.
