Scotland’s Boat Show 2021 We are delighted to confirm the new dates for Scotland’s Boat Show 2021 as the 8th, 9th and 10th October 2021, having taken the decision to postpone this year’s show due to the current pandemic and in the interests of the safety of our visitors and exhibitors. In its place this year, we had explored the possibility of hosting a Boat Sales Weekend in October but, given the continued uncertainty, we have decided to concentrate on an expanded Spring National Boat Sales Weekend here at Kip Marina on the 15th & 16th May 2021 with an emphasis on the best of Scottish boats and boating in a safe and secure environment. This will undoubtedly be a bumper event for knowledgeable visitors as it is also the weekend we host Kip Regatta, the first major race event of the season here at Kip, with an expected entry of over 60 boats from around the UK and Ireland. Scotland’s Boat Show 2021 is set to be our biggest event yet and will also include the spectacular ‘River of Light’ as part of Event Scotland’s Year of Coasts & Waters on Saturday 9th October when Kip Marina and the […]
Scotland’s Boat Show 2020 With the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, we are disappointed to finally announce the postponement of Scotland’s Boat Show 2020 (SBS20), due to take place this October. As we are experiencing an exceptional demand for boats due to the fall of foreign travel, our focus is now on planning for a special outdoor ‘Pop Up’ Boat Sales Weekend here at Kip Marina on the weekend of 9th-11th October with a wide range of new and pre-owned boats from all of the major Scottish dealers. This will be a no-frills weekend with digital ticketing, bookable viewings and full social distancing and hygiene protocols in place to deliver a Covid secure event that will showcase boats for every budget. The postponement of SBS20 is particularly frustrating as an enormous amount of planning and hard work from the team here at Kip Marina went to provide a special “Year of Coasts and Water 2020” Boat Show including the spectacular ‘River of Light’ event programme. However, due to the appetite and enthusiasm for the celebratory year from across the tourism and events sector, we are now delighted to announce that River of Light will return at SBS21. We are working closely with […]

The Great Rotary Duck Race You can take part in the Great Rotary Duck Race at Scotland’s Boat Show (actually you can’t take part unless you’re a plastic duck and if you are one, what are you doing reading this – shouldn’t you be in someone’s bath) when we release 200 numbered plastic ducks back in to the wild at the Kip River (that’s the river that runs in to Kip Marina) and see which of these speedsters crosses the finishing line first! There are two Heats on Saturday and again on Sunday with the Grand Final on Sunday afternoon when the winner will be crowned and served up with pancakes and plum sauce (That’s a joke and no ducks will be harmed in the race preparation). If you’ve always fancied a duck (insert your own joke here) you can sponsor one of these Yellow Fellows for the race at the Gourock Rotary Stand in the RYA Scotland pavilion and be in with a chance of winning a great prize and supporting the charitable work of Rotary in Gourock. To keep the SSPPD (Scottish Society for the Protection of Plastic Ducks) happy we will have Coastguards on hand in case […]
