Nautical 3d charts is a small one person business based in the beautiful scottish borders. My interest in nautical charts is from my background working at sea and serving with h.m.coastguard. I make each piece to your individual requirements using nautical charts from around the world mostly admiralty charts produced by the ‘u.k.hydrographic office’. Choose your favourite sailing area ,or your favourite coastal walk. I will search out a chart for the area and send you a few images of your selected area for you to approve and then start the process of producing your special piece of art.

The largest boat show in the country, and now regarded as the largest brokerage show in the UK, SBS attracted around 12,000 visitors last year and has added a host of new attractions for 2018 that will have visitors flocking from all corners of the sailing world to Inverclyde on the 12th, 13th & 14th October. Taeping Clipper is the first Clipper round the world racing yacht. Built in Essex in 1996 she circumnavigated the globe four times as part of Sir Robin Knox Johnston’s Clipper Race campaign. Following retrial from the race fleet she spent a decade in the south coast of England taking guests out for day sails before she came north to Scotland in 2017. The Knox anchor has the highest holding power of any commercial anchor for leisure boats. It was invented in Scotland by Professor Knox, and is made in Scotland, (perhaps the only remaining anchor made here?). New generation anchors are far superior in performance to older models, copies of which are still available. Some consider an anchor an item unlikely to be used, but like other safety equipment, when you really need it, it is some assurance that yours will work. No-one would rely on a 1930’s design of lifejacket today, but we cling on to 1930’s designs of anchors, ignoring the huge difference in materials and design.
