Scotland’s Boat Show ‘Gets On The Water’ with Riverside Inverclyde
The newest feature at Scotland’s Boat Show 2016, the ‘Get On The Water’ pavilion, proved to be such a success with visitors and exhibitors alike that it’s return for 2017 has already been confirmed together with a new sponsor, Riverside Inverclyde.
The Get On The Water pavilion (GOTW) was introduced with support from EventScotland as the complete novice’s introduction to sailing, boating and all other types of water sports after research at previous shows found that a lot of visitors wanted to know how to get into boating but didn’t know where to start.
On display in the GOTW was everything needed to try or buy a boat, jet skis, canoes or windsurfers for the first time and, it also proved popular with HRH The Princess Royal who spent time touring the pavilion and talking to exhibitors about a subject dear to her heart, sailing in Scotland.
Visitors to GOTW had the chance to try various skill simulators, book taster sessions on the water in small yachts and powerboats in conjunction with RYA Scotland, chat with experts from clubs and associations who gave informal advice on how they began boating or sailing or take advantage of special offers designed to get visitors on the water whatever their budget. There was even an indoor pool where visitors had the chance to take control stunning radio controlled model boats courtesy of Largs Model Boat Club!
Following on from the success of exhibiting in the GOTW last year, Riverside Inverclyde are the new title sponsors for the 2017 Get On The Water Pavilion and plans are already under way to add several new features that will expand the attraction and encourage even more new participants on to the water.
Andrew Bowman, Riverside Inverclyde’s Head of Business Investment & Operations said, “Scotland’s Boat Show in October 2017 provides Riverside Inverclyde the perfect opportunity to partner with the event by sponsoring the Get On The Water pavilion. With our aim to further grow business sectors and investment to stimulate economic growth in Inverclyde, the 2016 show was the perfect platform to promote the Inverclyde proposition to attendees, visitors and locals as they enjoyed Inverclyde’s access to world class sailing waters. The success of last years’ event was evident by the attendance of HRH Princess Anne, Princess Royal and also the influx of families that enjoyed their weekend at one of the true jewels in Inverclyde’s crown.”
Scotland’s Boat Show takes place at Kip Marina, Inverclyde on the 13th, 14th & 15th October and admission is free with car parking a nominal £5 per vehicle.
