Scotland’s Boat Show ‘Gets On The Water’ with Riverside Inverclyde The newest feature at Scotland’s Boat Show 2016, the ‘Get On The Water’ pavilion, proved to be such a success with visitors and exhibitors alike that it’s return for 2017 has already been confirmed together with a new sponsor, Riverside Inverclyde. The Get On The Water pavilion (GOTW) was introduced with support from EventScotland as the complete novice’s introduction to sailing, boating and all other types of water sports after research at previous shows found that a lot of visitors wanted to know how to get into boating but didn’t know where to start. On display in the GOTW was everything needed to try or buy a boat, jet skis, canoes or windsurfers for the first time and, it also proved popular with HRH The Princess Royal who spent time touring the pavilion and talking to exhibitors about a subject dear to her heart, sailing in Scotland. Scotland’s Boat Show 2017 takes place on the 13th, 14th & 15th October 2017 at Kip Marina, Inverclyde. Visitors to SBS17 can see new boats of all sizes – from luxury sail and powerboats to entry level dinghies – and, uniquely for a major boat show, over 100 high quality pre-owned boats for sale at levels to suit every budget – making it the largest brokerage boat show in the UK and the largest boat show in Scotland. On shore attractions include the RYA Scotland Pavilion with marine trade exhibitors showcasing the latest trends and equipment, the Get On The Water Pavilion with everything you need to know to go boating for the first time, the Scottish Food & Drink Pavilion, the Clyde Life-Style pavilion with craft & artisan traders, luxury motor cars plus a host of entertainment from pipe bands to helicopters flights! Scotland’s Boat Show takes place at Kip Marina, Inverclyde on the 13th, 14th & 15th October and admission is free with car parking a nominal £5 per vehicle.

Thousands of visitors headed to Scotland’s Boat Show as HRH The Princess Royal opened the 30th Anniversary event held at Kip Marina over the weekend of the 14th, 15th & 16th of October. Princess Anne, who was greeted by Kip Managing Director Gavin McDonagh, praised Scotland’s Boat Show and Kip Marina saying; “Kip reflects a huge growth in leisure boating activities in Scotland and opening it up as you do through the Boat Show to encourage even more to take to the water is enormous encouragement to everybody else. So thank you for all the work you’ve done to attracting more and more people to understand the pleasures of sailing in Scotland.” During the opening ceremony The Princess Royal unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion, after which she spent nearly two hours touring the show and viewing first hand some of the more than 120 boats on display, touring the exhibitions, enjoying the on-water demonstrations including a particular interest in the wheelchair accessible Wheely Boat and meeting exhibitors and visitors to the show.
